A gift can sometimes reignite a childhood passion. A story…

In my newly developed philosophy of correspondence and the ever-evolving nature of architecture, I relish opportunities like this to truly engage and explore the transmission of an idea of connection through physical correspondence—gifts.

My fascination with correspondence, particularly the act of gifting, has always drawn me to the tactile nature of giving. It serves as a bridge between family and friends, spanning distances of hundreds to thousands of miles. However, when I have the chance to fully immerse myself in my creative side, I strive to make the experience as unique as possible.

Recently, my nephew expressed an interest in my sports card collection, and I felt it was an opportune moment to pass down some of my favorite collectible cards.

The next task was to find a vessel that would truly capture his colorful, video game-loving nature. I wanted to maintain a relatively abstract design while highlighting the geometrical, linear, and vibrant gaming palettes.

As you can see, the vessel is quite small, but I also wanted it to be easily identifiable on a shelf, in a closet, or tucked away under his bed (which is likely). Essentially, it should be something that stands out and catches a very young boy’s distracted eye.
